Road police
Several high rank officers of the road police of Perm Region are accused of systematic title and power abuse. They issued new driver’s licenses to people whose original licenses had been recalled by court.
Protesters
50 workers of ZapadUralKran LLC organized a protest meeting at the trunk road Kizel-Solikamsk. Current back pay of the company accounts for 8.1 million rubles. There are 170 applications at court against the company administration already.
ZapadUralKran is a large producer of hoisting equipment and parts and the major employer in the town of Kizel. The company’s director Vitaly Fagmiev achieved an agreement with the Ministry of Industry of Perm Region regarding the plan of eliminating back pay. So, the protest meeting is viewed as an unnecessary measure by the region’s authorities.
Ghost towns
The town of Nytva, Perm Region, has been enlisted as one of the least perspective towns of Russia by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. There are 19 towns with the similar status, 4 of which, including Nytva, cause strong concerns of the government. At least 25% of population is employed at town-forming enterprises in these locations. If such a company stops operations, social tension might be beyond control limits.
However, the regional minister of industry of Perm Region Dmitry Teplov says Mechel JSC expresses interest in Nytva Metallurgical Plant. At least representatives of Mechel made a trip to and held negotiations with the Plant’s directors.
Automobile dealers close down
Arbitration Court of Perm Region started proceedings regarding the case of Avtomir LLC which filed a petition in bankruptcy. Avtomir LLC belongs to Verra Motors Holding. 2008 earnings of the company made 5.49 billion rubles.
Three more automobile dealers filed bankruptcy petitions.
Trust № 7
Oil processing company, Trust №7 JSC, re-elected the board of directors. General Director Boris Orlov remained in his position. There are two new owners of the Trust – PermNefteGasStroi and Lortek Limited (29.99% and 22.84% of shares correspondingly).
Sports
Perm’s women’s soccer team Zvezda-5 won over Saraevo FC in the Champion’s League scoring 3:0. FC Amkar lost to Spartak from Moscow in the Championship of Russia scoring 2:1.
