KuzbassEnergo acts
KuzbassEnergo, one of the leading electricity suppliers in Siberia, turned off power from 680 local enterprises of Kemerovo and Altai Regions due to non-payment. Press service of the company informs that the total debt currently accounts for 2.6 billion rubles. Major debtors of KuzbassEnergo in Kemerovo Region are KuzbassElectroMotor, Kemerovo Autorepair Plant and OJSC RUSAL.
Altai Republic’s light
Government of the Republic of Altai plans extension of electricity networks throughout the Republic. There are still some remote areas where people can use electricity only for 4-6 hours a day. Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of the Republic developed a program which has been approved by the Russian government. The Republic will get near 64.2 million rubles for the program realization and provision of stable and 24 hour electric power to all of its territories.
Governor’s approved
Alexander Karlin has been approved for the second term as governor of Altai Region. His new term will last for 5 years. Official inauguration will take place on August 25, 2009.
Road to Kyzyl
Construction of a railroad Kuragino-Kyzyl has become a high priority investment project for Krasnoyarsk Region and the Republic of Tuva. Last week top officials of both regions held a coordination meeting. Special point was made on preserving the environment during construction and functioning of the railroad.
“The road goes through pristine natural environment rich in cultural and historical monuments, which is especially crucial for Tuva’s part of the road”, Adham Akbulatov, chairman of Krasnoyarsk regional government declared.
Both regions will work on preserving the natural park Ergaki, which the new railroad also crosses.
Corporate raid
Law enforcement agencies of Novosibirsk prevented a corporate raid of a number of industrial companies in the city. On July 25, 2009 a group of 40 men invaded industrial premises of the OJSC ChemPlast, reports united press service of the invaded enterprises. Investigation indicated that the takeover could have been organized by a group of companies Oberon, where Denis Kiselev, son of the former vice-governor of the region Vasily Kiselev, is a stockholder.
United Russia’s list
Aleksey Bespalikov, secretary of the United Russia regional division in Novosibirsk, gave an interview to FederalPress where he spoke about the new procedure of putting forward party’s candidates for the elections.
The list of candidates will be approved during a party’s conference, by a collegial decision. Before this interview many rumors circulated stating that places in this list might soon be on sale for those willing to try becoming a regional deputy.
Aleksey Bespalikov says not less than 30 candidates from the United Russia might be elected in 2010 into the regional government of Novosibirsk Region, which now comprises of 40 deputies total. In the current regional Duma we find 28 deputies, members of United Russia.
Omsk airport junction
Airport Omsk Central will keep working only until the new airport Omsk Fedorovka is constructed, informs the governor of Omsk Region Leonid Polezhaev. This way the governor tried to quiet down rumors that the airport Omsk Central would be closed in the nearest future, as many locals fear.
Personnel of Omsk Central will also keep their jobs. Additionally, some repair works are planned in the halls of the facility and on the runways.
Greater Tomsk
Major of Tomsk Nikolai Nikolaichuk and head of Tomsk territory Anatoly Kaplunov signed an agreement of cooperation between these two municipalities. It is expected that three other municipal territories in the close proximity of Tomsk will soon enter the agreement.
The agreement aims at uniting different municipal territories around Tomsk and creating agglomeration “Greater Tomsk”. All of these areas face similar problems with transport communications, home construction, riverside roads, underground water intake, waste sorting complex and household solid chemicals disposal.
Creating an agglomeration will allow to look at these issues from a different angle, find better solutions, attract more investors and plan better industrial and production zones.
